New Semester/New Supplies/One Step Closer

Im in the process of buying my Parking Pass for Spring 10' for school, I made the mistake of not buying it first hand when it was available. I have an 11:30am class first thing on mondays, so yesterday I thought to myself "hey, B-rad, why not leave a few minutes early and be a good kid!" haha. I left around 10:50am thinking PLENTY time since I live really close. I pull into the lot that I normally park in and must have circled the place 6 times and no spaces came available. 35 minutes later I FINALLY found a spot. That is the long story short. Lesson learned, leave early, especially when its the first day.
Today was the second day of classes and I must say, I really picked the classes this semester!
Went this evening to pick up art supplies and one awesome aspect about being in an art influenced city is the abundance of supply stores and their willingness to provide discounts to students. I was able to snag all of my supplies that were originally $298.55, for a more reasonable $211.85. I know that sounds crappy but to tell you the truth I probably have another $50-60 to go.
Also, because I care about the other designers out there and want people to have solid advice about supply lists. One thing you guys MUST know is the extent of the supply lists. Ill give you an example from my Perspective class-

Hollow Core Drawing Board
T-Square
45ยบ Triangle-one large one small
Steel Ruler with cork or rubber back (18" or longer)
14"x17" bond pad
14"x17" tracing pad
Drafting tape/dots
Drafting Brush
Color pencils (verithin-red,violet,blue,green)
2G,H,HB pencils and pencils and mechanical pencils with appropriate lead
Eraser (magic rub type, in pencil form)
Erasing shield
Portfolio-paper type with handles
Pencil Sharpener-battery operated
compass
Micron pigma or other type drafting pens
Technical pens
Ellipse template
ames lettering guide
Vellum 11x14 pad or individual sheets
Itoya Presentation folder 11x14
Prismacolor pencils, very light colors
black canson paper
white heavy drawing paper
electric eraser

whew!

and that is just one class.

Imagine having 3 other lists that are the same length, if not longer, then you understand why I am happy I didnt spend 730264 dollars this evening...

I was actually asked recently what my favorite brand of vehicles I like the most. I spent all day today thinking about this in the back of my mind. Theres no one brand that I love because theres specific cars within brands that I am just attracted to so I made a list of brands that I prefer over others starting with the most desireable...

1.MINI
2.Volvo
3.Honda/Acura
4.Volkswagen
5.Mercedes-Benz
6.Porsche
7.Audi
8.BMW
9.Bentley
10.Rolls-Royce
11.Chevrolet
12.Cadillac
13.Toyota
14.Jaguar
15.Saab
16.Lexus
17.Hyundai
18.Ferrari
19.Maybach
20.Alfa Romeo (just because theyre not for sale here)
21. FIAT
22.Renault
23.Opel

Thats what I have so far dont kill me. I love all cars, but that is what I love.

Rendering

Living

Prior to moving out I would spend hours on my laptop scouring through Craigslist/Apartment Finder.com to try and find SOMEWHERE to live. I found a place in probably the best area possible to live and be near school and local shops. It is a loft-style apartment and is about 530-40 square feet and fairly narrow. I want to discuss the cost of living and continue to stress that it is offensively expensive. I located this place on CL and negotiated my rent costs etc. My lease began 9/1/09 and would go for one year. About the end of November the owner of my place expressed his interest in selling his unit to another owner while not interfering with my lease. The only silver lining to this was once my lease was over that the potential for extending my lease was probably going to be not likely. So I met the Realtor that was going to be showing my place and then he told me that he would provide me a 24 hour notice for when he would be bringing the potential new owners to see the place. At the time I thought it was going to be no big deal. Now about every other day to every day the place is getting shown and I am ready to MOVE. I am not happy. I am not happy that the inconveniences are piling up. I know this shouldnt be considered a big deal, but I am just voicing my frustration at the fact that the hours that he wants to show the place are odd (6pm, 3-4pm, and 10am and 12pm) I want a set time and set weekday that is professional. I am frustrated that so far, the cheapest place and most convenient place in Pasadena, is here. Ergh.
